The Ultimate Guide to Choosing the Right Patio for Your Home

Find Your Perfect Patio: A Homeowner’s Guide to Outdoor Living

When it comes to outdoor living in Australia, a home improvement – whether it’s a patio, carport, or enclosure – isn’t just an add-on; it’s a lifestyle upgrade.

Whether you’re dreaming of lazy summer afternoons, entertaining friends under cover, or simply creating a seamless flow in and outdoors, the right structure can completely transform how you enjoy your home. But with so many styles, materials, design options, and even builders available, knowing where to start can feel overwhelming.

At Apollo, we’ve helped thousands of Australians transform their outdoor areas into spaces that truly enhance their homes. Our goal is to create places our customers feel proud of – spaces that bring people together and make everyday moments with friends and family even more enjoyable. It’s all part of our vision: to inspire people to love the way they live.

While this guide isn’t a replacement for a personalised design consultation, it’s designed to give you a clearer understanding of your options, help you identify where to start, and feel more prepared when it’s time to take the next step.

Start With Your Space

The first step in choosing the right structure is understanding the space you have to work with. Consider things like:

  • The size and shape of your backyard, driveway or outdoor area
  • Where the sun hits during different parts of the day
  • Consider if weather impacts your space from a particular direction
  • How your indoor areas connect to the outdoors
  • Existing structures or landscaping you’d like to keep or work around

Match the Style to Your Home

Generally the best structures are those that feel like a natural extension, not an afterthought. Choosing a design that complements your architecture helps create a cohesive look.

Consider your roofline, colours and materials – they’ll guide you toward a patio or carport that fits seamlessly. Our observations:

  • Modern homes: Skillion or flyover patios complement clean lines, open spaces and a minimalist design aesthetic.
  • Traditional homes: Gable or heritage style designs, often with decorative slats, suit the character and charm of older properties.
  • Coastal or contemporary styles: Flat roof patios offer open, breezy designs that invite natural airflow – perfect for making the most of sea breezes while keeping things cool and comfortable.

Explore Patio Styles

Every home is different, and that’s why Apollo Patios offers flexible design solutions. Here’s a quick look at some of the most popular, but feel free to explore all of the options here.

Skillion: A simple, cost-effective, style that usually features one single-sloped roof.

Free-standing: Unlike attached patios, these structures have flexibility in where they are placed, allowing freedom in size, shape and style.

Enclosed: An effective use of patio space, an enclosed patio offers additional weather protection and living space as well as privacy.

Gable: A pitched roof design that creates an airy, spacious feel due to the increase ceiling height.

Flyover: Elevated to sit higher than your home’s gutter line, adding increased ventilation and natural air flow under the roof.

Think Function First

Before you lock in style or roof design, think about how you’ll use the space. For patios this may be;

Entertaining? You may want more covered space, downlights, or even incorporate space for a BBQ, smoker or outdoor kitchen.

Relaxing retreat? Consider adding privacy accessories such as slats, louvres, or even a timer-look ceiling for extra comfort.

Kids and family zone? You’ll want clear visibility, and reliable weather protection. Consider enclosing the space to make it usable all year round or suitable for your furry friend to enjoy.

Choose the Right Materials

Material choice matters – not just for looks, but for comfort, budget, and maintenance too. Key considerations are:

  • Is finding the most budget-friendly solution a priority?
  • Do you prefer a quieter roof during rain, or is that not a concern to you?
  • Would you like the space to stay cooler in summer and warmer in winter?
  • Is your home near the coast or in close proximity to a pool?

Each roofing option, whether single skin or insulated – offers its own set of benefits. By thinking through these questions, you’ll get a clearer idea of which solution best suits your space, lifestyle, and budget.

Our Design Consultants are here to guide you through the options, show you samples of roofing types and the profiles and colours available. This will help you weigh up the pros and cons to make a confident, informed decision.

Budgeting and Planning

Enhancing your outdoor space is an investment – when done thoughtfully, it can add lasting value to both your home and lifestyle.

Our team can provide guidance on:

  • Pricing and ranges for different patio types and materials
  • Solutions to reduce overall project cost
  • Planning for future upgrades (like screening or enclosing the space later)
  • Optional extras like lighting, louvres, or ceiling fans

Following your Design Consultation, our local Design Consultant will provide you with an Outdoor Solution, along with a quote – either at your meeting or a few days later, depending on the requirements of the project. This is an obligation-free quote, designed to make sure you are equipped with everything you need to make an informed decision on your project.

We’ve broken it down into six simple steps. Let’s walk you through the Apollo Patios process.

Step One: Make an Enquiry

It all begins with a conversation. You can reach out by giving us a call, sending us a DM or filling in our online enquiry form. It’s easiest for us if you provide us key details like your street address (or postcode even), to enable us to start our process of understanding what is possible at your property.

From there, we’ll schedule a time that suits you for a free Design Consultation with one of our experienced consultants. This is your opportunity to tell us what you’re hoping to create – be it extra shade for summer BBQs, protection for your car, or a fully insulated outdoor room.

Step Two: Design Consultation

At your in-home Design Consultation, our specialist will take the time to understand your space, needs, and style preferences. They’ll explore different layout options, roofing profiles, colours and finishes that complement your home – and lifestyle. It’s a collaborative process, and we’re here to guide you through it with expert advice tailored to your goals and budget.

Step Three: Design and Quote

Following your consultation, your Design Consultant will provide a detailed design plan and obligation-free quote. In most cases, you can expect to see a quote from your Design Consultant within a few days.

Your Consultant won’t mind you checking in on their process, but please keep in mind they are working on other projects and attending Design apppointments each day. Either way, we make sure you’re equipped with everything you need to make an informed decision.

Step Four: Check Measure

Once you give the green light, and the paperwork is out of the way – one of our friendly Building Supervisors will visit your property for a check measure. This ensures every detail is accurate and ready for when manufacturing begins – helping to avoid surprises during construction. It’s all part of our quality-first approach.

Step Five: Council Application

Red tape? Site plan? We handle it. Apollo Patios takes care of the council approval process on your behalf. Our experienced team knows how to navigate local regulations and will work to ensure all the paperwork is in place for a smooth approval. Tips for creating outdoor spaces that please the whole family

The outdoor spaces of our home are often used by the whole family, so it makes sense to design them with versatility and inclusivity in mind, ensuring they cater to the diverse needs and preferences of each family member. This approach not only elevates the quality of family time but also enhances the overall ambience of our homes.

From playful toddlers and energetic pets to adults seeking a tranquil retreat – we’ve got a myriad of ideas at our disposal. Let us guide you through creating the ultimate outdoor sanctuary – a place where both adults and little ones, including our cherished four-legged family members, can thrive and create lasting memories together. Whether you’re envisioning a vibrant play area, a serene garden retreat, or a dynamic entertainment space, we’ve got the inspiration and strategies to help you realise your outdoor dreams.

Choose functional furniture

In crafting an outdoor space that’s welcoming for every family member while still remaining stylish, choosing furniture that doubles as storage is a smart design choice. Seek out pieces that marry sleek design with practicality – think sofas or bench seating with hidden storage, coffee tables that reveal hidden compartments with a simple lift, or dining tables that expand to accommodate extra guests when needed. These designs are not just about saving space; they’re about enriching your outdoor living area with a blend of utility and aesthetic appeal, allowing you to store toys, games and entertaining accoutrements out of sight.

Select materials that stand up to the elements and complement your outdoor décor, such as teak or synthetic wicker, ensuring your furniture remains a focal point of your outdoor area year after year. Additionally, consider outdoor sofas with washable covers and ensure all furniture is stable and heavy enough to not easily tip over, safeguarding against curious hands or paws.

Incorporate play spaces

Dedicating a section of your outdoor area to play goes beyond sticking unsightly equipment in the corner of the garden; it’s about integrating creative elements that stimulate imagination while complementing your outdoor décor. Introducing innovative and stylish play features can transform your garden into an enchanting haven for children. A beautifully crafted wooden playhouse or a chic, minimalist sandbox can provide hours of entertainment without detracting from the garden’s overall aesthetic.

Or consider the addition of a swing or slide set for your patio. Wonderfully compact, these not only serve as a delightful play space for children but also an effortless day care for adults, bringing an element of whimsical sophistication to your outdoor setting. Opt for natural materials and designs that echo the style of your outdoor furniture, ensuring these play zones enhance rather than compromise your design ethos.

Freedom with boundaries

Enclosures play a pivotal role in crafting a kid and pet-friendly outdoor space. They provide a safe boundary that keeps unwanted wildlife out while allowing fresh air and natural light in. A screened wall around your patio can help you create a seamless transition between indoor comfort and the beauty of outdoor living. This addition not only enhances the usability of your space, allowing for extended evenings and protection from the elements, but also adds an aesthetic element that can be customised to match the architectural style of your home.

Incorporating gates with child-safe latches further ensures that little adventurers remain within the safety of your outdoor space. For pets, especially dogs, ensure the enclosure is of an appropriate height to prevent escape attempts and consider integrating a small, pet-specific entrance that allows them freedom to move between inside and outside as they please.

Provide shade and shelter

Integrating elements of shade and shelter not only serves the practical purpose of protecting your outdoor living areas from the unpredictability of fickle weather but also plays a significant role in defining the aesthetic and ambience of your garden. Modern patios adorned with lush climbing vines or elegant, retractable awnings present versatile shade solutions that can be adjusted to suit the day’s needs, ensuring comfort without compromising on style.

Greenery can offer a dynamic interaction between the built environment and the natural landscape, where the changing seasons bring new colours, shadows and textures to your outdoor area. Cantilever umbrellas offer flexible shade options, easily adjustable throughout the day, while adding a modern touch to your outdoor decor.

Creating a safe, kid and pet-friendly outdoor environment does not have to mean compromising on style. By choosing the right furniture, designing engaging and secure play areas and implementing strategic enclosures, your outdoor space can cater to every member of your family.

Remember, the goal is to create an area that promotes safety and enjoyment, fostering a love for the outdoors in your whole family. This approach transforms your garden or patio into a sophisticated retreat, where functionality and beauty harmonise to create a truly inviting outdoor living area.

Important Questions to Ask Before Building Your Outdoor Space

Adding an outdoor space, whether that be a patio, pergola or carport, is a great way to add functionality and value to your home.

The best patio builds are usually the best planned patio builds. So to help you get the most out of your experience, we recommend asking yourself the following questions. While not each will be relevant to you, it’s good to set clear expectations of what you want out of the space to ensure that what you choose will address all of your requirements both now and into the future.

What style of Patio or Carport do I want?

Start by considering what style your home is, then think about how the new structure will work best with the existing architecture. Consider whether you are trying to match the existing roof or style or modernise and refresh the existing home with a new look. Are there elements or colours of the home that you’d like to incorporate into the new structure?

Pay attention to elements such as rooflines, materials, and colors—are there specific features or hues from your home that you’d like to incorporate into the design? Additionally, think about how the structure will fit into your outdoor space and how it will appear from various angles, such as the street or your backyard, ensuring it adds both functionality and curb appeal.

How will the space be used?

It’s a wise move to brainstorm how the space will be used. Think about the primary purpose of the area, both for your current needs and future plans. Will it be for relaxation, entertaining, shelter from the sun, storage, protecting a vehicle, or a combination of these?

Think about how the space will function throughout different seasons and times of day. Will it need to accommodate larger gatherings or be a quiet retreat? Do you plant to enclose the space down the track? Planning with these factors in mind ensures the design will be versatile, practical, and perfectly suited to your lifestyle.

What is my budget?

Establishing a realistic budget early on is essential to control overspending and keep your project costs on target. Break down potential costs and explore what is included and what is left to account for. To ensure there are no surprises, account for things like; council fees, additional lighting, fans, and landscaping. It maybe helpful to list items that you could do without, or can add after the project is finished, for example: furniture – while tempting, this can be substituted and any point down the track.

Are there other projects that need to take place?

It’s helpful to establish a priority order for your projects, as there are often related tasks that align with planning and building your outdoor space, such as landscaping or concreting. Have you taken into consideration the patio foundation and its surrounding area? Depending on the contractor you choose, the foundation or “concrete slab” might not be included in their scope of work. This task is often managed directly by the homeowner and may be incorporated into broader property plans such as pathways, decks or tiling.

To avoid any confusion, discuss this during your Design Consultation to clarify responsibilities and coordinate timelines for all components.

Have I left enough time?

Like any project, there will be aspects of timing that are beyond your control. Our best advice is to set out a timeline of each of the major milestones, like Consultation, Design, Quote, Council Application, Manufacturing and Installation, taking into account the things you can control and can’t. Work back from your desired timing (or deadline), allowing sufficient timing to make key decsions around the design and quote process.

While our Design Consultant will be able to give you guidance on approval, manufacture and building timeframes, it’s best of course to add additional provisions for things that happen along the way like wet weather or hold-ups in the approval process.

What Approvals will I need?

Generally speaking, a building approval is required when adding a structure to your home. Planning rules and regulations vary per state, region and even local council so it’s best to understand the requirements for your specific property. At Apollo, we handle the council approval on your behalf, however we always recommend looking into the likelihood of a structure being approved in your local area, as a starting point, consider:

  • What the required boundary setbacks are
  • If there are any heritage or environmental protections over your property
  • If the structure will impact the aesthetics or character of your neighbourhood and if there are equivalent structures present on the street? (While this might not nessecarily help your approval, it’s good to know).

Will I need additional features or accessories?

The right accessories can complement your outdoor addition without breaking the bank. Understanding how you plan to use the space will help determine if additional features or accessories are necessary.

Various accessories, like louvres and slats, can be integrated into your structure’s design to address different challenges. If your outdoor space is exposed to gusty winds or rain, louvres and slats can be incorporated to provide a stylish finishing touch that also doubles as extra protection from the elements. This is also useful when shielding a vehicle from passing eyes. Accessories like LED downlights or skylights can be included to keep the space bright and inviting.

Will this space take your home to the next level?

As you reach the design and quote stage, it’s the perfect time to reflect on your expectations. Will the proposed design elevate your home and lifestyle? Achieving the right design is essential, and our experts are here to collaborate with you to create an outdoor addition that meets all your needs and truly transforms your space.

We encourage you to take extra time to visualize the finished structure in your space. A simple yet effective way to do this is by marking out the area with spray paint and arranging furniture, your BBQ, and any storage items as you envision them in place. This hands-on approach helps visualise size and space to ensure that it aligns perfectly with your vision. Of course we understand the importance of working within budget and space constraints.

So where do I go from here?

Adding a patio, pergola, or carport is an excellent way to boost both the functionality and value of your home. To ensure your project meets all your needs, it’s crucial to plan carefully, considering factors such as design style, space usage, budget, and potential additional features.

Take the time to visualize how the new structure will integrate with your home and outdoor area, and account for necessary approvals, related projects, and timelines. By addressing these key considerations upfront, you can create a well-thought-out outdoor space that not only enhances your lifestyle but also complements your home’s overall aesthetic.

Ready to go? Even if you feel a little overwhelmed, that is okay! We are here to help and will work through any challenges that you are faced with during a Design Consultation. If you’re ready to book – reach out to us today and get your new space underway.

Need Help Designing Your Ideal Patio?

Start Here

From enjoying a relaxed Sunday brunch to hosting a lively evening dinner party, outdoor living is an integral part of the Australian way of life. Creating a space to gather with friends and family or to enjoy a morning coffee while soaking up some sunshine is what many Australians consider a quintessential part of their lifestyle. Whether it’s a simple backyard patio or an elaborate outdoor entertaining area complete with a barbecue, outdoor kitchen, and pool, Australians love to make the most of their stunning natural surroundings by creating a comfortable space that allows them to spend as much time as possible outside regardless of the weather.

If you’re in the process of designing your ideal patio, here are some important points to think about before and during the Design Meeting with our Consultant. If you’re still not certain about any or all of the elements of your ideal patio, don’t worry! Your Design Consultant will be able to help you during your free consultation.

1. Size

While the size will somewhat be dictated by the outside space you have to play with and council regulations in your region, we can design the size of your patio by considering how you intend to use it. If you love to entertain and envisage big dinner parties with family or friends, a larger patio space will of course be better suited. You may also like to bear in mind how you currently use the outside space you have now so you can factor in any features or functions that you feel are missing and would like to incorporate into your new patio design. This will help us to create a space together that not only meets your current needs but also addresses any shortcomings or limitations of your current outdoor living area.

2. Roofing

Choosing the right roofing for your patio is crucial, it needs to be durable to withstand Australia’s harsh weather conditions. It is essential to use roofing best suited to your local environment. Do you need to account for cyclones or bushfires, for example? Is the roofing engineered and certified for these conditions? Insulated roofing panels will help to modulate the temperature, reducing the heating and cooling requirements of your new patio space. So, you may like to consider whether insulated or single skin roofing is better suited to your needs. We can manufacture your preferred type of roofing to suit your requirements.

3. Layout

How do you want to arrange your furniture and other features? Do you want a central area for entertaining or a more intimate space for relaxation? Would you like room for a fireplace or fire pit? Do you need space for a dining table or a barbeque? Consider your lifestyle and preferences when deciding how to arrange your furniture and other features, so that you can create a patio that is functional, practical, and tailored to your specific needs.

4. Weather

The Australian sun can be harsh so providing adequate shade is important. Work with your patio installer to ensure your roof is expansive enough to offer you adequate shade throughout the day. If you live in the southern parts of Australia where the winters can be longer, would you benefit from enclosing your patio space with doors and screens so you can continue using your outside living space in windy, cold or wet weather? There are plenty of clever designs that can help you to enjoy your patio space all year round.

5. Furniture

Comfortable outdoor furniture that is durable and easy to maintain is essential. Depending on whether you intend to use your patio as an entertaining area or as a relaxation space, you may like to ensure you have space for a dining table or outdoor lounge – or both. There are many different styles and materials to choose from, so take your time and find what best suits your needs.

Light and features

6. Lighting and other fixtures

Outdoor lighting can create a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it perfect for evening relaxation or entertaining. Have a think about the lighting you envisage as your patio builders can help you incorporate different lighting options into your design by adding the cabling ready for a qualified electrician to hook it up.  Alternatively, installing outdoor lighting, such as string lights or lanterns, can provide ambient lighting and create a cosy atmosphere. You may also like to consider other fixtures such as fans, heaters, speakers, power points and switches as these can be incorporated into the design and made ready for complete installation by an electrician.

Outdoor area

7. Landscaping

Plants can add colour and texture to your patio while creating a sense of privacy. They also help create a cooler and more comfortable outdoor environment by providing shade and reducing heat. If you’re looking to create a tropical feel, consider adding some palm trees or ferns to your patio. Alternatively, if you want to add a pop of colour, you might opt for some brightly coloured flowers, such as hibiscus or bougainvillea. Choose plants that thrive in your climate and require little maintenance. Succulents, native grasses, and flowering shrubs are excellent choices for an Australian patio.

8. Purpose

Your new patio will be the perfect place to kick back and watch the bees buzzing around your garden or admire the view beyond your backyard. You may also like to consider how else you want to use your patio. Is it a space simply for relaxation or entertaining, or both? If you’re planning to use your patio for entertaining, you might want to consider adding a built-in barbeque or outdoor kitchen. This will allow you to prepare and serve food without having to constantly move between your indoor kitchen and outdoor patio. On the other hand, if you’re more interested in using your patio as a space for relaxation, you might want to consider adding comfortable seating, such as a sofa or outdoor lounge chairs. You could also consider adding a hammock or swing for the ultimate in relaxation or incorporating space for the kids or grandkids to play.

Ultimately, the key is to create a patio that meets your specific needs and enhances your lifestyle. Whether you’re looking to entertain guests, relax with family, or simply enjoy a quiet evening outdoors, there are countless ways to design a patio that reflects your personal style and enhances your outdoor living experience. How To Build A Patio Roof

Adding a roof to an outdoor space gives increased protection, meaning you will be able to use it in almost any weather, increasing the time you can spend outdoors. A roof offers shade in the summer and protection from the elements in the winter, provding a space that can be enjoyed without reliance on a clear sky.

Building a patio roof can seem challenging, with many options available and various pros and cons…but not for us, at Apollo Patios – we’re experts in providing roofing solutions. We have been designing and installing patio roofs for almost three decades, helping Australians like you to create the perfect covered space for your home.

Our approach involves six steps, taking your roof from an idea to reality. Read on to learn more.

1. Consultation

You will meet one of our Design Consultants at your consultation appointment, who will start by listening to the vision you have for your space. Whether you are looking for a new deck and roof combination or a roof to cover an existing space, they can help bring your design to life.

You will be shown several material and colour choices, styles, and more to help you narrow your options and decide. We will also consider any requirements from your council to ensure the structure is not only suitable for the space but compliant.

2. Design And Quote

Our consultant will create a design and provide you with a quote. This can either happen during the appointment or up to a few days later. They will outline what they have included in their quote and will work with you to incorporate any suggestions or adjustments you may have.

When making adjustments to the design, the quote might change, but your consultant will inform you of this.

3. Check Measure

The next step is, one of our building supervisors will visit your home to measure the space. They will double-check all dimensions and details are correct, to ensure a smooth installation. For an efficient installation and to reduce wastage on-site, our roofing arrives onsite cut to size.

4. Council Application

Most councils and states require a permit when adding a roof to your patio. We will speak to the council on your behalf, complete all the necessary paperwork, liaise with them where needed. During your consultation, we will let you know if there are any requirements that may not be approved, ensuring the recommend structure we put forward is most likely to be approved.

Manufacturer

5. Manufacture And Deliver

When we have approval we will begin manufacturing your roof and it’s components. When everything is ready, this will be delivered, complete with all required parts to your home – ready for a smooth installation.

6. Installation

Finally, our qualified builders will arrive and install your new roof. We specifically train our builders and installers to communicate with you from start to finish and to keep a tidy site. As your property is a temporary construction site, we ask that you respect safety guidance or any specific instructions from our installer.

How To Enclose A Patio?

A patio is the perfect space to spend afternoons or evenings soaking up the sun, eating ‘alfresco’ style, and playing with your children or fur babies. But when the wind hits or the sun turns up the heat, you may want to retreat indoors, taking shelter and advantage of air conditioning. But with a patio enclosure, you don’t need to.

A patio enclosure is essentially a patio that in some form is enclosed using either mesh screens, louvres and slats or glass. The aim is to provide protection from the elements while still maximising the use of your outdoor space. Knowing how to enclose a patio can be tricky, but we have been doing it here at Apollo Patios for years! Our guide today shows you the options available and the process of enclosing your patio.

Patio Enclosure Options

We offer three types of patio enclosures that can protect you from harmful UV rays and pesky bugs. Our enclosures allow you to enjoy a secure space that has plenty of fresh air and natural light, bringing the outdoors in. Let’s look at your options now.

Screened Enclosures

A screened enclosure creates an enclosed space without sacrificing airflow and natural light. We typically add sliding or hinged swing doors that you can open or close as needed to provide plenty of airflow and security.

Screened enclosures are a fantastic option for blocking most debris, insects, and UV rays from your home. They also allow you some privacy, which is ideal if neighbours surround you or want to play with your children peacefully.

Glass Patio Enclosures

Glass patio enclosures are a stylish option, allowing for unrestricted views and the sensation of being outdoors while having plenty of protection from the elements. Glass enclosures are easy to maintain, and offer the benefits of being completely secure.

Commercial Patio Enclosures

Finally, we offer commercial patio enclosures perfect for restaurants, cafes, hotels, apartments and spas. You can choose from screens or glass, depending on your requirements, providing an suitable place to enjoy regardless of the weather. Each option will assist in preventing debris and bugs from ruining your staff or customer’s experiences. We find they enhance outdoor dining areas, especially if you experience coastal winds, or frequent inclement weather.

How To Enclose A Patio

We follow a six-step process when enclosing a patio, outlined below.

1. Consultation

Whether you are building a new patio or enclosing an existing area, we will meet with you to discuss your options. At your design consultation, you will meet with one of our consultants to discuss your enclosure, show you the options, and provide some inspiration if needed. *Please note not all Apollo dealers/locations are able to offer enclosures to existing patios.

The consultation is your perfect opportunity to ask any questions you might have. We can also offer guidance on building the enclosure in line with council regulations, transforming your outdoor living space into the perfect place.

2. Design And Quote

After your consultation, we will design your enclosed patio and share this design with you, along with a quote. This can take a few days after your consultation, depending on the complexity of your outdoor space. At this point you can make any suggestions or tweaks to the design. Remember when making adjustments, this could affect your quote, your consultant will provide you with the specifics.

3. Measurement Check

When you have agreed on the design, we will send a building supervisor around to measure your space. We will double-check all of the details, and ensure that the enclosure fits the space and make any necessary adjustments.

4. Council Approval

Most enclosures will need council approval. We take care of this for you, completing any necessary paperwork and ensuring approval before manufacturing your enclosure. We have years of experience dealing with local councils, so we work to have your project approved as soon as possible, providing all of the neccesary plans and details.

5. Manufacture And Deliver

Once the patio enclosure has been approved, we will get to work on manufacturing the various components of it. We manufacture at our local centres before to your door.

6. Installation

Finally, our builder or installer will arrive to build your enclosure, efficiently working to ensure your outdoor space can be used as soon as possible. Our builder will take care to ensure a tidy worksite, and will advise you of any safety issues they may need you to follow.

When the enclosure is installed, you can enjoy the space and start personalising it with landscaping, additional furniture, and lighting.

Glass or Screened Patio Enclosures: Why would you choose an enclosed patio?

Glass or Screened Patio Enclosures: Why would you choose an enclosed patio?

What’s not to love about spending more time outdoors? It rejuvenates both mind and body, and we’re fortunate to enjoy Australia’s year-round climate. But occasionally, the outdoor experience isn’t so ideal.

Have you ever relaxed outside only to be pestered by mozzies? Or hosted a patio dinner, only to have a sudden downpour soak the furniture? This is where patio enclosures come in.

In this blog, we explore the key differences between glass and screened patio enclosures. Discover how to choose the perfect option that fits your needs and lifestyle.

Comparing Glass and Screen Enclosures

When choosing between glass and screen enclosures, it’s crucial to consider your unique needs and preferences. There’s no one-size-fits-all solution—it all comes down to how you plan to use the space and what matters most to you.

Glass enclosures provide a permanent and robust barrier, offering superior insulation and protection from weather elements, much like other rooms of your home. They can be designed to offer panoramic views, seamlessly blending the outdoors with the comfort of your indoor space.

On the other hand, screened enclosures are more cost-effective and typically faster to install. Naturally, as they are partially open, they are ideal for those who enjoy fresh air and a more natural outdoor experience. However, because they are not fully enclosed, they provide less protection against extreme weather conditions, which may be a factor to consider if insulation and security are a priority for you.

Benefits of Glass Enclosures

Bring the outdoors in with a stunning Glass Patio Enclosure and transform your space into a private oasis of relaxation and comfort.

With the added benefit of usability, you can enjoy the beauty of your outdoor surroundings without worrying about bugs or inclement weather. A glass enclosure allows you to experience natural light and scenic views while staying sheltered and cozy. Whether it’s a hot summer day or a chilly winter evening, your patio becomes a versatile, year-round haven for dining, entertaining, or simply unwinding in style.

Protection from the elements: Enjoy your outdoor space year-round without being exposed to harsh weather. Being full enclosed, can allow you to use the space for a wider range of uses, and not require outdoor specific furniture.

Aesthetic appeal: Glass enclosures offer a modern, sleek design that enhances your home’s appeal. If designed carefully, this additional living space may appear as part of the original home design.

Excellent insulation: Glass enclosures are completely sealed, providing superior insulation, helping to maintain a comfortable temperature in your patio area, even during colder months. This may mean you need to install heating and cooling equipment.

Increased home value and security: A stylish glass enclosure not only boosts your property’s worth but also offers added security with a fully lockable space.

Expanded living space: A glass enclosure extends your living area, creating a versatile, multipurpose space that can be used for dining, relaxing, or entertaining year-round.

Benefits of Screen Enclosures

Feel the breeze and enjoy nature from the comfort of your home with a beautifully designed Screened Patio Enclosure.

Our expert team will create a secure, stylish space that keeps out unwanted pests while allowing you to soak in the natural surroundings. Breathe in fresh air, relax, and entertain with ease—it’s the perfect way to bring the outdoors in without compromising on comfort or safety.

Cost-effective solution: Screen enclosures offer a more budget-friendly solution for homeowners looking to create a designated enclosed area in their home, an ideal, secure space for children playing or pets.

Increased privacy and enjoyment: Screen enclosures allow you to enjoy your patio without worrying about pests like mosquitoes and flies, making outdoor gatherings more pleasant. They provide a level of privacy while still allowing you to enjoy views of your surroundings.

Excellent ventilation: The mesh used allows fresh air to circulate while effectively keeping out insects and debris, making them ideal for warm climates where airflow is crucial for comfort. They offer a sense of being outdoors while still providing some protection from the environment.

Easy installation and maintenance: Screen enclosures are relatively simple to install. As with insects and unwanted wildlife, screened enclosures can keep larger debris and leaves out, meaning maintenance is kept to a minimum.

Quick repairs: With the elimination of any glass, weather-resistant screened enclosures generally speaking can withstand more damage. Any damage to the screens can usually be easily repaired, ensuring longevity and usability.

Does A Patio Add Value To Your Home?

Have you considered adding a patio to your home but don’t know if it will actually add value? Maybe you have looked for ways to enhance your home and increase the value and want to know if a patio will help? Whatever the reason is that brought you here, we have the answers for you.

At Apollo Patios, we have been creating patios and outdoor structures for nearly three decades. Our specialist knowledge and experience second to none, and we love transforming homes and outdoor spaces. Today, we explore whether and why a patio adds value to your home.

Will A Patio Add Value To My Home?

While we don’t have a crystal ball, the answer is unequivocally ‘Yes’, a well designed patio can significantly add value to your home.

According to numerous real estate agents and statistics released by Australian Property Investor in 2022, indicating adding a patio can offer homeowners between 65 – 75% return on their investment. Open Agent on the other hand, suggests a new patio can offer 100% return, while a refurbishment of an existing patio can bring in a massive 500%.

The truth is, it’s difficult to quantify the precise return on what you spend when adding a patio so it’s not a decision to make frivolously. It’s important to note too, that carefully selecting who you partner with to build your patio is essential since the quality of the finished product will impact any return.

Your needs and circumstances will of course also influence whether a new patio is right for your home as well as the design of any patio you decide to build. A good rule of thumb is:

1. If you’re living in your forever home (or at least not planning on moving for some time) design your patio on your current and future outdoor lifestyle needs. Keep in mind that your home may be sold or passed onto family in the years ahead. Take resale and ongoing use into consideration, yet make the space something designed to meet your preferences and specifications.

2. If you’re not living in your forever home and are looking to spruce up your property for the best resale, design a patio that will attract and impress your target buyers and act as a true extension of your home.

3. If you’re contemplating a patio for an investment property, consider a design that will yield a higher rental return and differentiates your property from other rentals on the market in your local area.

Why Does A Patio Add Value To My Home?

There are a few main reasons why a patio can add value to your home, including the extra living space and lifestyle offered. A well-planned entertainment area shows buyers that your home is spacious, perfect for entertaining guests, increasing its value and possibly attracting more buyers. Below, we have outlined some of the reasons that a patio adds value.

Patios Provide A Better Lifestyle

A patio can provide a better lifestyle, increasing the living space of your home and encouraging you to make the most of Australia’s climate and spend more time outdoors. Your patio space can be cosy and inviting in the winter, making it the perfect spot for relaxing, while in the summer, it can provide double as a reprieve from the hot sun, or a vantage point to watch the sunset.

Patios, especially those partially (or fully) enclosed, offer year-round use and allow you to make the most of your outdoor space, even when the weather doesn’t agree with your plans.

Patios Can Cool And Protect

A patio can help to keep you cool, especially during hot Australian summers. You can add ceiling fans to keep you cool and provide a safe space for children to play outdoors. You can also cleverly create your patio to reduce direct sunlight, cool the rest of your house, and save money on air conditioning.

Not only will a well-designed patio keep you cool, but it can also protect your outdoor furniture and accessories. By keeping your BBQ, outdoor kitchen or furniture shaded and protected from the sun, you can extend its lifespan, saving you money on furniture in the long run.

Patios Add Extra Living Space

One reason why patios add value to your home is the extra living space they provide. A patio space with roof overhead and possibly sides becomes a year-round living space you can enjoy in any weather. An outdoor kitchen means an extra resource for food preparation and cooking meals outside can be a fun! BBQ your dinner to perfection whilst still staying involved in the conversation with your guests.

The additional living space is also perfect for hosting parties or providing a safe space for your children to play during hot summer days. Not only does this add to the practicality of your home but the additional space makes your home seem larger to potential buyers, making it more attractive and possibly encouraging them to offer more money to secure your home.

Patios Make A Great First Impression

When designed correctly for the space and maintained well, we find a patio can create the wow factor that buyers are waiting to be blown away by. Picture walking through a home to see a large patio, a space completed with outdoor seating, and plenty of shade; and even a closeby fire put – your jaw will drop! A well-established patio shows buyers that your garden or backyard is enjoyable, with nothing left to do, making it seem more desirable than other properties where work has not been done to get to this point.

Patio storage

Patios Create Visual Impact

It’s true a patio quickly becomes the social hub of the whole home and this is obvious for a prospective buyer or tenant to your property. Potential buyers can look at countless houses, so you need something to make yours stand out. A patio can do that! Striking patios tend to include a clever design, demonstrate quality craftsmanship and take advantage of fresh breezes or unused space. All of these things can attract a buyer’s attention and leave a lasting impact.

Most councils require a permit for your patio, especially if you are adding a permanent roof or other structures close to boundary lines for your property. This process is different per state and even council. While this process can be tricky, should you choose Apollo Patios, we will handle all the paperwork for you, ensuring that the patio that we recommends meets all of the necessary requirements.

How much your patio costs depends on a few factors, like its size, the roofing materials chosen used, how it connects to the home, as well as and any extra accessories you add. We also offer payment plans that help you spread the cost of your new patio, allowing you to start enjoying your outdoor space sooner.

What are the best patio roofing materials?

There’s nothing like enjoying the Great Outdoors from your very own patio, especially when the sun is shining and there’s a gentle breeze cooling you down. But what about when it rains? Just because the weather turns, it doesn’t mean you have to stay inside and watch from the window. Here at Apollo Patios, we specialise in roofing and outdoor solutions so you can enjoy the outdoors all year round!

From simple steel roof sheets to more complex insulated products, we stock an impressive number of patio roofing options ensuring there’s something to suit your outdoor improvement project.

Keep reading for a detailed review of some of the options we offer to find out which might work best for you.

Why is steel the best patio roofing material for Australian conditions?

Many people believe that steel roofing is the best material to withstand the harsh weather conditions the Australian climate can bring, due to it’s lightweight yet robust characteristics. Steel is strong and sturdy and a reasonably cost-effective solution to offer great protection. However, steel isn’t the only material available to use for your outdoor area. For example, if you are after a semi-open structure or structure that just offers shade then a simple screening solution or pergola may be a more affordable option for you. Similarly, if you live near the water, we’d recommend a specific steel that can withstand the damaging effects of salt spray, humidity and extreme weather conditions, giving you additional piece of mind and extra protection over a regular steel roof.

All of our roofing material options can offer excellent protection from Australian weather conditions, so it really comes down to understanding your project budget and what you intend to use your outdoor space for.

Apollo Patio steel patio roofing materials

Steel is weatherproof, strong over large spans and is a common choice for patio roofing, but there are a few more options to choose from depending on your circumstances and what you need from your roofing material. Let’s take a look at the patio roof materials we offer and what they’re best chosen for.

Steel patio roofing

One of the biggest selling points of steel patio roofing is its durability, leading to it’s popularity. Our roofing is Australian made and manufactured in each key region we service. Each product is manufactured and built to last, and we test it rigorously to ensure it delivers to the highest standards.

Our philosophy is to provide quality products that last and our steel roofing is a testament to that. While a steel roof may seem like a big outlay at the time, we believe in doing so you are setting yourself up with one of the most cost-effective, long lasting roofing options on the market.

Why do we recommend steel patio roofing?

  • Durability: Steel is one of the most durable, impact resistant roof materials available, while lightweight, it is able to withstand all kinds of weather conditions
  • Low maintenance: Steel requires very little maintenance from you and it has excellent colour retention, so your roof will look pristine for longer
  • Large span: With our unique roll formed steel profiles, it is strong over large spans, meaning you can cover more patio without extra posts blocking your view
  • Weather resistant: Steel can withstand the extremes, from colder temperatures as well as hotter weather without warping or becoming brittle, allowing it to last longer without replacement or repairs
  • Apollo’s steel is thicker than industry standards: Not only does our hi-tensile steel improve the longevity and durability of your roof but also provides more resistance to damaging weather
  • Range of colours: We offer a range of roofing colour options, giving you the flexibility to complement or contrast with your existing home colour scheme

Our Single skin patio roofing materials

We’re thrilled to offer our single skin roofing options, made from high-quality steel. We offer two different profiles for you to choose from, including the Apollo Unilink 2000 and Apollo Outdoor Flat, so you can pick which works best for your individual style.

Single skin roofing

The Mark II sheeting is thicker than industry standards to offer improved durability and weather resistance. The Unilink 2000 is a dependable roof option that can span an impressive 4.7 metres without the need for any unsightly posts. Each offers a unique profile style for your outdoor space.

Why do we recommend single skin patio roofing?

  • Cost-effective: Single skin roofing uses just one metal roof skin, roll formed to a particular profile, making it more cost-effective without sacrificing quality or effectiveness
  • Non-combustible: Our single skin roof options are independently tested and certified as non-combustible, providing a complete solution for Flame Zone (FZ) regions
  • Easy to maintain: Our Durasheen paint coat finish is super easy to maintain and provides an industry leading 15 year warranty
  • Resilient to mould growth: Thanks to the impressive paint system, our single skin roofs are resilient to mould growth, translating to easy maintenance and the ability to keep them in excellent condition for longer
  • Impressive span: Our single skin roofing options are sturdy enough to span up to 4.7 metres without any rafters or battens ruining your view dependant on a few factors

Our Insulated plan patio roofing materials

One of the most popular patio roofing options is fast becoming insulated panel because of the extra benefits over and above standard steel roofing sheeting. Our insulated roofing has been designed, engineered, and manufactured to offer superior comfort and year-round protection, so you can enjoy your patio throughout every season without the need to heat or cool your outdoor space.

Insulated roofing blends two products in one, a sturdy roof sheet combined with an underskin – a finished ceiling-look, being two products allows for different colours on the top and bottom skins. It can also be used as wall panels as well, offering excellent thermal comfort and a reduction in radiant heat transfer, so you can rest assured you’ll be comfortable underneath your new patio roof!

Why do we recommend insulated patio roofing?

  • Exceptional thermal comfort: Experience a reprieve from extreme weather with your insulated roof that helps to moderate the temperature for you both in colder and hotter conditions, meaning you save on energy costs
  • Noise absorption: Not only does insulation offer resistance to heat flow, but it also absorbs noise, from rain on your roof to echoing noise in your patio, giving you a more enjoyable space to relax in
  • Reduction in radiant heat transfer: Our insulated roofing reduces heat transfer, meaning your outdoor space is kept at a much more enjoyable temperature than a single skin space, forget having a steamy outdoor space
  • Fewer rafters/battens: With the superior span of our insulated roofs, there’s no need to use extra unsightly rafters or battens to brace your roof
  • Ceiling-look finish: The underside (side you see from inside your patio) has a ceiling-look finish, making your outdoor space look complete and homey from day one

Our patio roofing materials for waterside living

Living by the water might be your dream come true, and we can understand why! But what does this mean for your patio roof? Building near water often means your patio is subjected to harsh environmental conditions that can take its toll if it’s not been built with the correct materials. Luckily, we’re experienced in these challenges and are experienced in choosing the right roofing materials for this sort of environment.

Our waterside living patio roofs are made with UniCote Coastal, which is pre-painted steel designed with anti-corrosive properties and featuring a 30% thicker protective coating with the magic of added magnesium. We recommend UniCote Coastal for waterside living as this product is engineered and tested specifically to perform in the harshest Australian coastal conditions.

Why do we recommend specific materials for patios built by the water?

  • Unique conditions call for extra protection: Living by the water comes with its own set of unique set of challenges, but our roofs are designed to offer market leading protection with minimal maintenance
  • Designed with advanced anti-corrosive properties: Our waterside living patio roofs are highly resistant to the damaging effect of salt spray, humidity and extreme weather conditions
  • Enhanced coating: The coating used is 30% thicker and incorporates a ground breaking technology to provide improved protection and safeguard your investment
  • Advanced paint technology: This material uses advanced paint technology and a multi-layer paint system that includes a primer and topcoat perfect for withstanding harsh coastal elements, and this paint system can protect against corrosion, UV rays, and physical wear
  • Industry-leading warranty: Our warranties are industry-leading, and our team will determine your warranty based on your environment and distance from the water

Other patio roofing options

The options we’ve looked at so far aren’t the only options for patio roof materials available on the market, although the following alternatives come with their own set of challenges and drawbacks that we don’t endorse. Let’s take a look at a few of these below.

Fabric or canvas patio roofing

Fabric and canvas patio roofs work to reduce heat by simply offering you shade from the sun, although this is where their protection stops as they usually aren’t weather or water-proof solutions. These roofs tend to be more affordable as they’re thinner and easier to install as a do-it-yourself project, so you should be able to get your outdoor space up and running within minutes!

You also have the flexibility to remove the fabric or structure if you’d like, so you can take it down and put it back up prior to rough weather or as you see fit. However, it’s important to note that doing this too much might weaken the fabric and leave you with a less durable roofing choice.

Potential drawbacks of fabric patio roofing & why we do not offer it

  • Limited protection from the elements: Fabric shades only offer as much protection from the elements as the material can withstand which, compared to steel, isn’t much
  • Designed for shade only: Fabric or canvas roofs are designed to offer shade only, so they won’t be able to keep your patio cool or dry during various weather conditions, and will tend to get drenched during rain events
  • Requires more maintenance: Fabric panels often need care and attention to remain as effective as they were when you first got them, so you’ll need to be monitor the condition and potentially replace as required to ensure its reliability
  • Fixing required: We know it can be tempting to choose a shade that’s quick to put up and begin using, but fabric shades usually require anchor points or dynabolts to be installed to secured it in place, which may be a bit of an eyesore, plus the sail itself may not present as well as it wears in the weather

Glass patio roofing

Glass patio roofs sound like a good idea in theory – it’s just like a massive skylight, right? Unfortunately, there’s a little more to it than that and glass patio roofs are simply not economical. They’re also harder to install than enclosing your patio with glass windows and doors, and there’s always the risk if they were to break. Here at Apollo Patios, we’re happy to talk you through our enclosing services if you’d like to include glass in the design of your patio!

Glass patio roofs also protect from the elements except sunlight, which can have your patio reaching incredibly high temperatures that aren’t comfortable for anyone.

Potential drawbacks of glass patio roofing & why we do not offer it

  • Not heat resistant: Glass will protect you from rain and wind, but it’ll let the sunlight straight into your patio, making the patio warmer and less enjoyable for you to be in for too long
  • Higher costs: Glass roofs are heavy and difficult to install, and usually require one-off design and engineering so the chances are, even if you find a tradesperson to install one, you’ll have to pay a significantly higher overall cost especially when adding the extensive labour component
  • Difficult to clean: The theory of a glass roof is often much more appealing than in actuality because glass needs cleaning from leaf, debris and bird droppings much more frequently to avoid it looking unsightly from the underside
  • Will require bracing to hold it up: As we’ve said, glass is heavy so you’ll need a suitable solution to hold it up securely and safely, which may make the project unachievable

Polycarbonate patio roofing

Polycarbonate roofing is transparent and the most similar clear look to glass in it’s appearance. Quite a few of our customers ask about polycarbonate roofing as it seems like an affordable alternative to glass. When you can’t find a tradesperson to fit a glass roof, why not move onto a polycarbonate alternative?

Polycarbonate roofing tends to be inexpensive, lightweight, and easy to install, so it can appear like an attractive option for many people. However, here at Apollo Patios we don’t offer this roof option, preferring to use it as a secondary accessory where we best see fit, such as in gable ends or as infill pieces to limit strong winds.

Potential drawbacks of using Polycarbonate as patio roofing & why we do not offer it

  • Needs to be regularly cleaned: Just like glass roofs, polycarbonate needs to be cleaned of leaves and debris often as the dirt is very visible without frequent cleanings
  • Can be noisy: Polycarbonate is a thin plastic that can be quite noisy when being rained on or in a storm, and this can impact how much you can relax underneath your patio roof
  • Lacks insulating properties: As polycarbonate is quite thin, it offers little to no insulation so you might not be able to enjoy your patio all year round without wrapping up warm
  • Little thermal efficiency: Likewise, polycarbonate roofs tend to trap heat that it lets in through the translucent panels, and this can make it difficult for you to relax in warm weather as temperatures will skyrocket before you know it
  • Can be easily damaged: Polycarbonate roofing can become damaged if it is battered during hail and storm events, which can compromise the roof or make it look old and tired before you know it

Where to go from here?

So, you think you’ve chosen the material you want to use for your patio roof – amazing! The best next step is to talk to an expert and decide on the next steps. At Apollo Patios, we’re more than happy to talk through your needs and come up with a plan that can help us understand what you are trying to achieve.

For example, are you looking for something more visually appealing to complete your home or do you need something that offers more protection to withstand the harshest Australian weather conditions? Do you live near the water or in a cyclonic region?

Questions like these will help us determine which of our roofing materials is best suited for you. If you only want an open space to offer some shade during the warmest weather, an affordable solution may be to use decorative screening or an open-style pergola structure. Or if you’re after a quick and very affordable option then a temporary fabric sail structure may be your best bet, which we don’t offer.

However, if you’re looking for a premium quality, long-lasting patio roof with industry-leading warranties and low maintenance requirements, we’ll help you pick the best option from our range.

We offer free consultations to our customers and are here to advise you in any way we can, so what are you waiting for? Give us a call or enquire now to book a Design Meeting with one of our experts!

Which roofing is best suited to waterside living?

Living by the water is a dream for many. The serene views, fresh air, and calming sound of waves or running water are just a few of the drawcards of waterside living. However, this idyllic lifestyle comes with its own unique set of challenges, especially when it comes to patio construction.

Building near water often means dealing with harsh environmental conditions that can take a toll on structures. Salt spray, high humidity, potential flooding and severe weather can significantly impact the longevity and durability of steel structures, posing a real challenge for homeowners and builders alike.

Some of the key challenges include:

High humidity and salt spray: Coastal environments have high humidity levels, and the salt content in the air speeds up corrosion. Salt spray results in salt deposits on building materials, which can lead to more rapid deterioration. This is a particular concern near the ocean but can also affect structures near large bodies of water due to the moisture-laden air.

Unwashed areas: Rainwater naturally washes away salt deposits from surfaces. However, structures like patios and carports have large unwashed areas where rainwater doesn’t reach, such as the underside of insulated panels. Salt can accumulate and accelerate corrosion in these areas.

Weather extremes: Coastal and waterside areas often experience high winds and storm surges, which can damage structures not designed to withstand such forces. More frequent and severe weather events can compromise building materials and exacerbate the effects of corrosion.

Proximity to pools: Even being near pools poses challenges due to the chlorine and other chemicals used in pool maintenance. These chemicals can also contribute to the corrosion of nearby structures.

To ensure longevity and durability of structures built in coastal and waterside homes, it’s essential to select materials and design strategies that can withstand harsh environmental conditions.

At Apollo Patios, we prefer UniCote® Coastal because it stands out as a product specifically engineered to address the unique challenges posed by coastal and waterside environments. A pre-painted steel product designed with advanced anti-corrosive properties, UniCote® Coastal is highly resistant to the damaging effects of salt spray, humidity, and extreme weather conditions.

Why UniCote® Coastal is the best choice for coastal areas

Superior corrosion resistance: UniCote® Coastal features an enhanced metallic coating system that provides excellent resistance to corrosion. The specially formulated coating significantly reduces the rate of degradation caused by salt-laden air, ensuring the longevity of the panels.

Advanced paint technology: The product uses advanced paint technology that includes a primer and topcoat designed to withstand the harsh coastal environment. This multi-layer paint system offers an additional barrier against corrosion, UV rays and physical wear, making it ideal for waterside areas.

Durability in unwashed areas: The coating on UniCote® Coastal is particularly effective in unwashed areas, where traditional materials may fail. Its robust coating ensures that even in areas not regularly washed by rain, such as the undersides of panels, the material remains protected from salt buildup and corrosion.

High weather resistance: UniCote® Coastal is designed to endure extreme weather conditions. Its strong adherence to the substrate prevents peeling and chipping, even in high wind and storm-prone areas. This ensures the structural integrity of buildings during severe weather events.

Aesthetic longevity: Beyond functional durability, UniCote® Coastal maintains its aesthetic appeal over time. The high-quality finish provides excellent colour fastness, ensuring that buildings retain their vibrant appearance despite any potentially harsh waterside environment.

Sustainability: UniCote® Coastal is environmentally friendly, manufactured using processes that minimise environmental impact. Its longevity and durability mean fewer replacements and repairs, contributing to sustainable building practices.

Enhanced coating: The metallic coating is 30% thicker, providing superior protection in harsh waterside environments. This thicker coating acts as an additional shield against the corrosive effects of salt spray, high humidity and chlorine from pools, significantly reducing the likelihood of rust and deterioration.

Warranty coverage: UniCote® offers site-specific warranties of varying durations for UniCote® Coastal depending on the environment and distance from water. Simply email the address of the project and Apollo will confirm the warranty you’ll receive with UniCote®. The UniCote® warranty also covers unwashed areas and the ceiling of insulated panel.

Maintenance plan: UniCote® Coastal comes with a comprehensive maintenance plan designed to ensure your insulated panels last for many years, even in the most challenging waterside conditions. This proactive approach not only extends the lifespan of the panels but also reduces long-term maintenance costs and enhances overall building performance.

Choosing the right materials is crucial to ensuring the longevity and durability of structures in waterside areas.
