About our Team

Our Design Consultants are the smiling faces who will visit your home for your initial design consultation. They will help you design a structure to suit your lifestyle needs, and select the right products from our range to suit your space.

Our friendly Admin Team are the oil that keep our operation moving! They assist with everything from enquiries to contracts and you’ll likely connect with a few of them throughout your journey with us at Apollo Patios.

First Contact and Initial Consultation

Most definitely! Our Design Consultants have been doing this for many years and are a wealth of knowledge. As a starting point, you may like to think about the issues you are currently experiencing with your outside space and how you want to use the area. Then discuss this with your Design Consultant and together you will create a design that works best for your space, lifestyle and budget.

Yes, we have a display at our Brisbane Head Office in Parkinson. During your complimentary design consultation your Design Consultant will have product samples and photos to show you. If you’re not based in Brisbane, you will still be able to see examples to help you streamline your decisions.

Unfortunately concreting is not a service we offer personally, however, we have an extensive network of contractors we can put you in touch with if you would like us to. If you are paying via our finance option, Handypay, the concreting can be combined with your Apollo Patios project.

We allocate up to two hours for your consultation with our Design Consultant. How long the consultation goes for will depend on you and your requirements.

The Administration Team will be more than happy to reschedule your appointment. Give them a call and they will work with you to find a time that suits you.

You most certainly can, Our Design Consultants love a cuppa! (And they would love to come back for a BBQ once your new outdoor area has been completed!)

Quotes and Contracts

As all of our projects are custom designed and built to suit individual needs, we are unable to provide quotes over the phone. We will need to see your space and chat with you about your vision in order to identify which roof style and products will be best suited. An onsite free consultation is the best way to obtain a quote.

We have a five day cooling off period from the day you sign your contract in case you change your mind. Written notification via email to sales@apollopatios.com.au is required to set these wheels in motion.

We understand that sometimes circumstances change so it is possible to cancel your contract beyond the five day cooling off period. Once you do exceed the five days however, you will incur fees to cancel your agreement. These fees are based on the stage of your contract and will be advised in writing by our Administration Team.

QBCC Insurance and Council/Private Certifier

Yes, all class 10a structures must meet the standards of the Building Code of Australia. Council Approval or Certification means the relevant building surveyor has approved all the plans and documentation and confirms your new structure is being built to the legal standard. There are a few instances where you may not need council approval. Our Design Consultants are across these criteria. They will advise during your initial consultation.  We will handle the council application process on your behalf.

It depends on the type of certification you are applying for. Standard Building approval is approximately 60-90 business days, relaxation approval is approximately 10-30 business days and DA/Town Planning approval is between 30-120 business days depending on which council we are applying to on your behalf.

QBCC is home warranty insurance specific to Queensland. If your Queensland project is $3300 and over, you must have a QBCC policy. It gives the homeowner protection where there is defective or incomplete building work or subsidence, so it provides greater peace of mind.

Payments and Invoices

We understand that paying upfront doesn’t work for every budget so we offer a flexible finance opton with Handypay to make your new outdoors space more affordable, with easy low repayments. You can learn more about this via the Payment Plans page of our website.

We require your deposit (this amount varies depending on the value of your contract – see the next FAQ) and council fees upon signing your contract. Your Design Consultant will provide you with our bank details upon signing your contract for you to pay the deposit and the council fees.

Once your payment and contract has been received in the office, our administration team will issue an invoice (and receipt) for your records.

This depends on the value of your contract. For contracts up to $20,000, the deposit is 10% of the contract value. For contracts over $20,000, the deposit is 5% of the contract value.

You will be sent a request for your materials payment prior to delivery. Please note that materials cannot be delivered until this payment has been received.

Delivery

Your materials delivery will be left on the nature strip in front of your property unless other arrangements have been made with our Building Supervisor during your Check Measure.

Yes, your materials are covered by insurance once they have been delivered. However, we do ask that you take a duty of care to keep them safe until the installation.

As you can appreciate, parking a truck isn’t always the easiest thing to do – especially on busy, narrow roads or congested roads. Our experienced delivery drivers will gauge the best place to park to unload your materials.

Our delivery drivers have been delivering materials to our customers for many years and know the best place to leave your materials so you don’t need to be home for the delivery.

Installation

Once we have completed your Check Measure and have received approval of your Construction Plan from your local council, we will schedule your installation with our next available builder in your area. Due to the high demand we’ve been experiencing recently, at present the wait time for installations is around 2-5 months.

It’s up to you! We can pull down and take away the old structure for you, but there would be an additional charge. So, if you are capable of removing the old structure, it can help to keep your costs down.

A Check Measure is where our Building Supervisor visits the site to ensure all measurements and colours are correct prior to ordering material. It is also the last opportunity to make any changes to the design, colours, etc… so if you’re still umming and ahhing mark your Check Measure date in your calendar as final decision day!

As each structure is different, the build time will depend on the design and complexity of the project. Our Production Team will give you an indication of how long the build will take when booking in your installation.

We understand you’re excited to see your new outdoor space come to life! Please be mindful, however, that this is a construction area. It is safest for you to avoid the area until our builders have completed the installation and have deemed the area safe. That said, our builders may consult with you during the installation. Please take their lead and only access the area when asked to do so.

Warranty

We offer a 15 year materials warranty on our Apollo Durasheen® paint finish, and 6 year workmanship warranty for complete peace of mind.

Once your structure has been completed, you will receive a link to our Online Warranty Registration. Please make sure you fill this out to validate your warranty. For anyone who can’t access the online form, we have a paper version you can complete and return by post. Please call us to request this if required.

Maintenance

We have a Service Enquiry form on the website for you to complete and a member of our team or the closest Apollo Patios partner will be in touch to help.

An overflowing gutter is most often the result of gutters clogged with debris. It’s important to regularly check and clear your gutters of any build up of debris. The regularity of this will depend on the foliage surrounding your home but generally speaking it’s ideal to do this at least twice a year.

Unfortunately our gutters are not designed to have Leaf Guard installed and doing so will void your warranty.

Your new roof is super simple to keep clean. Use a soft brush or microfibre cloth in some warm soapy water. We recommend cleaning first thing in the morning, whilst the roof is still cool.

It is absolutely safe to use a BBQ underneath your new patio roof. However, be mindful that the steam from the BBQ can cause mould and condensation marks on the roof. These are easily removed with a soft brush or microfibre cloth and warm soapy water.

Insulated Panel

The depth of the insulation adds strength to the roofing system, allowing us to span a greater distance without the need for beams when we construct your new outdoor addition.

The length of your patio or carport will dictate the thickness of insulation needed to span the required distance. The varying thickness of the insulated panel will not inhibit its ability to deflect heat.

Absolutely! We can supply and install LED downlights (specifically suited to insulated panelling) and wiring. You will need to have an electrician connect it all up for you.

It’s absolutely possible to have a fan added to your insulated roofing. Let us know if you intend to add a fan and we can supply and install the provisions you will need such as the fan bracket and wiring. You will then need to purchase your preferred fan separately and have an electrician install it for you.

Our insulated panelling is strong enough to carry your weight so you can walk on the roof if you need to. We strongly advise that you take all the proper safety procautions and do so with caution.

Unfortunately, our insulated roof products are not designed to host solar panels. Please refrain from installing solar panels to protect your warranty and guard against leaks.

Your insulated panels shouldn’t be affected by water, however, you may still see marks or nests from insects. If you do notice any signs of leakage, please ensure you report them to us as soon as possible. This will ensure mould or moss doesn’t find its way onto your new roof or framework.

Single Skin Roofing

Unfortunately single skin roofing does not have the strength to hold the weight of someone walking on the roof.

Single skin roofing can accommodate lighting mounted in suitable locations, however, we would need to allow for extra provisions when quoting. If this is something you are thinking about, please let your Design Consultant know so they can factor it into your quote.

Pets

Our consultants and installation teams love animals. However, as a precautionary measure, we ask that you keep your dog locked up or relocate it during your check measure and installation.
